STUDY THE NETWORK™ IS NOT A TYPICAL SCHOOL VISIT EXPERIENCE
The Study the Network™ day is spent observing in a school with strong culture, ambitious instruction, and efficient school operations. The intentional schedule, small group size, and access to teachers and school leaders during the visit gives participants direct exposure to the ingredients necessary to run a high-performing, high-poverty school. Observations are discussed and thin-sliced to support participants in identifying the key levers that can be utilized to drive improvement in their own schools.
STUDY THE NETWORK™ IN A NUTSHELL
LIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Participants spend much of their day observing in classrooms and common areas, so they can experience the school in action.
INTENTIONAL SCHEDULE
In addition to classroom observations, time is spent discussing observations and hearing from key staff at the school.
PRACTICAL VIDEOS
Our video content is unique in that it captures key systems & routines that may not be observed during the school visit. We watch them together and analyze the video for key ideas.
TIME FOR REFLECTION
We provide the time for participants to practice self-reflection, discuss observations with colleagues, and action plan for improvement with their team.

WOULD RECOMMEND STUDY THE NETWORK TO THEIR COLLEAGUES
“This was one of the best and definitely the most thought out PD I've been a part of. It seemed to be as meticulously planned as the school culture, curriculum, and procedures of the school we were in.”
— STUDY THE NETWORK PARTICIPANT
The Study the Network™ workshop is offered through a partnership between the School Performance Institute and the four schools that make up the United Schools Network.
